I highly recommend reading thru Mark Russinovich’s blog: The Case of the System Process CPU Spikes http://blogs.technet.com/markrussinovich/archive/2008/04/07/3031251.aspx Additionally the two books that he and David Solomon co-wrote have good information regarding Restart in Safe Mode with Networking, if the problem still occurs: Get a network trace and see where the traffic is coming from. I have 4 servers currently running at 100% CPU due to this issue and I am currently a bit stuck! Should we kill the features that users are not using frequently, to improve performance?
